Our Pistol 3 takes the basic foundational material taught in Pistol 1 & 2 and moves beyond that knowledge base to to the next level of the student's shooting experience. While this course will continue to present the students with drills that break down the fundamentals of the shooting process, this course incorporates holster draw and magazine changes into the students experience, and focuses on recoil control and follow up shots. At the conclusion of this course students should have a high level of confidence in their ability to draw and present their pistol from a holster, transition magazines while shooing, and comprehend what goes into controlling recoil and making follow-up shots hit their intended target.
Pistol 2 course or equivalent training/experience is required to take part in this course. Each participant must bring eye and ear protection (we highly recommend electronic ear muffs), closed toed shoes or boots, a functioning pistol with a minimum of 2 magazines (we recommend a full size pistol if possible), and a minimum of 300 rounds of ammunition. We recommend additional magazines and ammunition if available. Ammunition is available to purchase prior to the class and loaner pistols are available if needed. Please reach out for more details. You will need a minimum of two magazine pouches as well as a holster for your firearm. We highly recommend having a dedicated shooting belt with your pouches and holster attached. We recommend utilizing an active retention holder, such as Safariland ALS, or if using passive retention, using a Kydex holster specific for your gun model. Leather holsters are allowed, but not recommended. No BLACKHAWK Serpa style holsters please!
Each student will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to taking part in the course. Ammunition must be factory new with no reloads, no exceptions. The shooting range is outdoors, so wear appropriate attire for the weather as well as any sunscreen, lip balm, etc. you may need. Remember to bring water and snacks. If, at any time a student puts themselves or other individuals in harms way through reckless actions on their part, they will be asked to leave the training without refund. Participants must be at least 21 years of age unless a parental waiver has been issued ahead of time.
