Our Pistol 1 course is the foundation for all future pistol trainings, whether it be with Stage 1, or any other company out there. We focus on the basic fundamentals of pistol shooting, presented in a way that allows even the most inexperienced shooter to build confidence in their abilities and enjoy the shooting experience, while also giving seasoned shooters insights they may have never known. As with all of our courses, Pistol 1 utilizes s a series of drills that focus on deliberate actions and limited movements that allow the student to build their knowledge base with fundamentals they will be able to use even in the most advanced situations. We cover a wide range of topics, from safety and range etiquette to the simple, but complicated art of how to hit what you are aiming at! By the end of this training students should have a firm grasp on firearms safety, understand the basic functionality of a pistol, and have developed a confidence in being able to handle and fire a pistol. Even if you've been shooting for years, our approach offers something that shooters of all experience levels can build on.
No previous training/experience is required to take part in this course. Each participant must bring eye and ear protection (we highly recommend electronic ear muffs), closed toed shoes or boots, a functioning pistol with a minimum of 2 magazines (we recommend a full size pistol if possible), and a minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition. We recommend additional magazines and ammunition if available. Ammunition is available to purchase prior to the class and loaner pistols are available if needed. Please reach out for more details. Holsters are not required for this training, but if a holster is not present, a carrying case of some kind is required, and the firearm must be in it upon arrival to the range. No BLACKHAWK Serpa styles holsters please!
Each student will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to taking part in the course. Ammunition must be factory new with no reloads, no exceptions. The shooting range is outdoors, so wear appropriate attire for the weather as well as any sunscreen, lip balm, etc. you may need. Remember to bring water and snacks. If, at any time a student puts themselves or other individuals in harms way through reckless actions on their part, they will be asked to leave the training without refund. Participants must be at least 21 years of age unless a parental waiver has been issued ahead of time.
